I am the only person on my team here at work today. Our corporate campus is about two blocks from the HUGE FIREWORKS PARTY where they expect about a third to half the population of the greater Capital City area to show up to watch corporate-sponsored fireworks. Not too many people chose to brave the streets - half of which were closed by the party and half of what remained were closed due to construction. Even my boss gave me my mid-year review via phone.
On my way out, I wished British Jon a "Happy Awkward Anglo-American Relations Day." He chuckled.
